And There Went Another Shred of My Sanity.

I made it 2 years 8 months 3 weeks and 1 day as a parent, before I had to make a call to poison control.

Today we bought some new stuff for our bathroom. So i had spent the day on and off cleaning and rearranging things on my counter in there. I went back in there to do something and smelled a funny smell. I thought at first i had maybe knocked over the finger nail polish remover, but upon a quick look discovered it was still sitting up against the wall in its normal spot. I walked back out into the hall and the smell got stronger. I immediately freaked out wondering who had fingernail polish. I get to the girls' door to see Aria feeding Cora fingernail polish!!!!!! My first reaction was to get through the baby gate and get it away from her, however baby gates don't react well to frantic moms. After I got the fingernail polish taken away I realized I had my cell phone in my hand and immediately called my mom. In a rush of words I asked if ingesting fingernail polish needed a call to poison control. She was frantic and said YES!!!!!!

So i hung up and went to the kitchen to look for my handy magnet with poison control's number on it...it was gone. Of course the one time in almost 3 years i NEEDED it, it would be missing. So I jumped on the computer and looked it up real fast. Dialed the number with record speed and they answered super fast(not sure what else I was expecting from a number that was for emergencies).

The lady on the phone had to calm me down so she could understand me. Turns out, at Cora's age and weight with the amount of finger nail polish that was missing from the bottle she was in the clear. We just had to clean her up and push a few cups of juice. It turns out that the alcohol content in finger nail polish could have caused her to have a dip in her blood sugar.

I'm pretty sure that I gained a few dozen gray hairs tonight. We had to have a chat with Aria about NEVER EVER EVER eating or feeding her sister something other than food.

Now I am VERY MUCH ready for a good nights sleep, and no more crazy incidents.
